Very solid tube. Good base and treble. Very warm. Sound-stage is very large and well defined. This tube is very similar in sound to CBS 12bh7. It’s definitely not as airy as Telefunken 12at7. One weakness of this tube is transparency – but it’s a downside of its warmth.
Now one expected issue – it behaved very well in driver stage of the amp and cathode follow stages, but failed short in input amp stage – the sound-stage collapsed completely. Do not use it in voltage amplification stages – it’s not designed for it.
