Great new tube from New Sensor. Finally we have something that can take place of the famous Mullard GZ34 tube and rightfully so. The tube is very smooth and transparent with fantastic bass slam. Now the main question is how does it compare to the original Mullard tube. It compares very well – Mullard does still provide tighter mid-bass impact, but Genalex has better lower bass drive. On the top end and mid-range, the tubes performed practically the same – with Genalex sounding just a bit drier. So all in all, this is a fantastic alternative to the coveted and disappearing tube. Considering that this could be had for around 1/2 of what the original goes for – this tube is great! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
I tried this tube in place of Shuguang 5AR4 rectifier. Big Improvement! Smoother and better detail resolution.
