Very rare tube with some very interesting and unique sound qualities. Arcturus was producing it’s own tubes from 1925 until around 1952, it started to re-brand other manufacturers’ tubes after that, so I didn’t have much expectations about sound of the tube, but when I got it, it was very obvious that the tube didn’t look like any other 5751 tube. It had long shiny black plates and bent D getter. Sound wise, it was very transparent with superbly delicate sound to it. Bass was very solid. One of the best sounding tubes that I came across in 12ax7 family.
Long story short, after a lot of digging, it appears that the tube is actually Tung-Sol 12ax7 Black plates 🙂
