Another beautiful piece of work from Sylvania’s JHS line. This review is specifically for JHS 12at7WA with 3 mica and wing plates. This is the earlier, Black Plates version of one of my favorite 12at7 from Sylvania. And this one didn’t disappoint either – fantastic liquid sound that must be heard to be believed. Incredible lusciousness in mid range and as with all black plates from Sylvania – great, tight, controlled bass. As with many tubes I’m reviewing lately, the biggest issue with this tubes is that it’s practically impossible to find. There is an easier to obtain alternative, 12at7 black plates with 2 mica, but I found it to be not as good as JHS 3 mica version. In any case, this tube is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
