Well, after reviewing Gekko speaker cables, I finally got their silver digital and RCA analog ones and, since I got amazed again I had to put some words here about it. All in all, the sound retained its character, well known from the speaker wires. It is incredibly open and natural, with outstanding musicality and three-dimensionality at the same time being quite warm.
Well, this might not be the place for the hi-fi cables reviews but since silver plays important role in tube-based gear equipment, I decided to write something about the cable that rather changed my perception of music listening.
Well, after reviewing couple of tubes here, I decided to go for a tube audio preamplifier I have recently acquired. And it isn’t the ordinary one but as its name suggests, full-tube based from the power supply to the gain stage with zero feedback made in strictly point-point technique. Chassis is carefully made from steel and zinc-plated before painting. Front plate is engraved in brass, highly polished, nickel plated.
Since I have recently bought some very nice EL34/6CA7 integrated amplifier (serbian manufacturer P&K Audio, model Duet 34, triode mode connection only), I started playing with its one and only input pre-amplifier tube that is of ECC81 type. Other two phase inverter/driver tubes are the reference Tungsols 5687 which I luckily did not have to play with 🙂
